Sorry!
02:45
|
|||
I’m sorry that we fight
I tried with all my might
But sorry’s just a word
And words can never get it right
Sorry for my glee
It’s the pharmacology
Obfuscates, obliterates
My apology
And all I know is that we have reached the end
And all I say is sorry once again
And so I offer my apology
And add it to this toxicology
They say time is a teacher
It’s just a bottle of ether
So what kind of creature will I be?

I’m snozzled, sloshed and smashed
My money’s gone, I’m trashed
There’s no excuse
For the self-abuse
‘Cause all my dreams are dashed
It’s drunk and I’m raining
King of what I see
I’m not complaining
It’s how I’m meant to be…
I just don’t give a damn
If the lion eats the lamb
You could infer
That I’m just a cur
I drink therefore I am
I’ve been told that the local scolds
Have started up a fund
To run me out of Taco-Town
And see that I am shunned
I’m as sober as a judge
But one you shouldn’t nudge
Awake, asleep
Don’t make a peep
I’m sure to hold a grudge…

Milkmen
03:14
|
|||
Eventually, we all turn out to be milkmen
Eventually, we all turn out to be milkmen
When your lion tamer dreams ain’t what they used to be
Simply getting by is what appeals to you and me
Left for you and me…
There’s just so many fishes living in the sea
Just so many wishes that are left for you and me
Left for you and me…
I could be an accountant, I’d sail the accountant sea
I could be a lawyer with a big retainer fee
I could be a critic, cross my eyes and dot my t’s
I could be your manager, skimming every royalty
Together we’re the pinnacle of mediocrity

Best Days Gone
03:53
|
|||
Under the lights so bright, underachieving I try as I might
Knowing you're still unheard. You do what you can, but it seems so absurd
Play me, pay me. I’m reaching out with empty hands
Try me, buy me. Offers are fading it's not going to last
Looks like my last at bat. The silence is not golden I feel like I’m trapped.
I listen to no one else. Stuck in my bubble alone with myself
Play me, pay me. I’m reaching out with empty hands
Try me, buy me. Offers are fading it’s not going to last
Just for the record I like it alone
Time is a robber who took all the gold
No one around me from morning to night
While I curate my life, I can’t seem to...
Just for the record I like it alone
Time is a robber who took all the gold
No one around me from morning to night
While I curate my life, I can’t seem to write.
Back to the better days.
Time passes by and leaves you away.
The rest of us just wonder why
You're all alone with nothing to play?
Play me, pay me. I’m reaching out with empty hands
Try me, buy me. Offers are fading it's not going to last
Play me, pay me. I’m reaching out with empty hands
Try me, buy me. Offers are fading it's not going to last

Rain
02:53
|
|||
Rain…you’ve forsaken me
The pain…has overtaken me
I don’t know why or wherefore
So I just cry and therefore, I’m in…
Pain...it’s a catastrophe
The rain...as I atrophy
I don’t know whence or whither
While I debate and dither, I’m in …
Pain, why have you taken me?
Her smile’s forsaken me
The pain is breaking me in two.. (ooh ooh ooh ooh)
Pain… in my misery
The rain...is my company
I don’t know why or wherefore
So I’ll just cry and therefore I’m in
Pain
In pain...

I Shall Be Re-Released
02:44
|
|||
I shall be re-released
Oh that’s sure
Oh that’s sure
I have seen the last and least
I’m coming through the door
Think about the songs
All the ones that you have heard
They will pass along
And will not be deferred.
When the hour is right
In the twinkling of an eye
They will all take flight
And float into the sky
From their lofty perch
They will say their last goodbye
And while we weep in church
They shall never die

Ten Bells
03:04
|
|||
London Pavers all look the same, ten bells ringing on the old brick lane
London pavers all look the same, ten bells ringing on the old brick lane
Mary goes out working for the night.
For little money, nothing’s seeming right.
Not knowing where her fortunes lay or knowing if it's her last day of poverty or life.
Who thought Fate would offer her a ride? For a taste of grape or a glimpse of the other side.
But fortune showed her mighty hand, she headed west down the Strand. And so in Mayfair she arrived.
A poor placed bet or flip of coin, you’ll never know who you’ll join.
That toss of fate won’t elevate the friends she left behind.
Mary is never going back. She had enough of church and the Union Jack
She now lives whole on the dole in her happy Mayfair home.
Now life is quiet and far too much a bore.
She is too at peace wanting something more.
Be content with what you have, keep looking west and don’t be mad because Mary of Mayfair has arrived.
London Pavers all look the same, ten bells ringing on the old brick lane
London pavers all look the same, ten bells ringing on the old brick lane

Misery Loves Company
02:29
|
|||
If misery loves company
We will pass triumphantly
Into the Land of Broken Hearts
Where anger is integrity
And sweetness is a felony
And joy is just the sum of broken parts
Summer wonders where the springtime went
Summer the winter of my discontent
If misery loves company
We’ll rattle on redundantly
And rummage through the drawers of drunken dreams
Where flickers of eternity
And patterns of paternity
Reveal that nothing’s ever what it seems
And when it’s time to go
I will hold your hand
Together we'll ascend to no-man’s land
Misery loves company
Harken to my homily
Of love and sex and death and hope and lies
And life’s majestic pageantry's
Reduced to guileless gallantry
And nothing we can do will turn the tide

Lonely Was His Name
02:41
|
|||
I met a ghost on a coal black road
Lonely was his name
He stared at me with empty eyes
Lonely was his name
Who are you? I asked him twice
Lonely was his name
The sky grew dark with rain and ice
Lonely was his name
Excuse me sir
We must leave this world
And it’s pain
Your time is nigh
You have no choice
To remain
The cemetery calls us all
Lonely is its name
The jail is full from wall to wall
Lonely is its name
The homeless camp, the weathered tramp
Lonely is its name
The place you find yourself tonight
Lonely is its name
Excuse me sir
We must leave this world
And its pain
Your time is nigh
You have no choice
To remain
Echo chamber, silence falls
Lonely is its name
That wasn’t god’s voice after all
Lonely is it’s name
That wasn’t god’s voice after all
That wasn’t god’s voice after all

The Shit is Going Down
03:32
|
|||
Bottle of bourbon, bottle of beer
Bottle up all of your hopes and your fears
‘Cause today
The shit is going down
Throttle the engines, slip into gear
Wobble the distance from there to here
‘Cause today
The shit is going down
Coddle the killers, swaddle the young
Adjust all your filters, ‘cause the party’s begun
And today
The shit is going is down
So we choke upon the words
Turning treasures into turds
Trouble your maker, shed all your tears
Here is the sum of your hopes and your fears
‘Cause today the shit is going down

The Truth is Never True
03:22
|
|||
The truth is never true
Your parents lied to you
Your time has come, you're done
And the bills are due...
The Potter’s Field
Will never yield
You mustn’t misconstrue
The ghosts of wrath tread a tortured path it’s true
It’s a turning point
That would disappoint
A better man than you
You can cry and cry but the Word will never do
Those nursery rhymes
From your childhood times
Should ease you on your way
But there aren’t any blacks or whites just grey
There’s no sense in it, but do your bit
If it helps you make it through
Make a show of it, it’s all that you can do
By the way
There’s no Hell to pay
So try to muddle through
No one cares about the likes of you
Where we’ve been or where we go
No one gives a damn
Let this be an epic epigram…

End the Day
04:30
|
|||
So there's more to say......You sure seem a wee bit rattled
Just get on your way....You're destined to be battled
and run up the score...... Should you consider running?
Out that door......and know we're always judging
You and yours......your keeper
You should end the day
Me, I'll always believe you
You should end the day
You don't compromise......Could you ever settle?
Do you realize?.....How often that you meddle
You and yours......your keeper
You should end the day
Me, I'll always believe you
You should end the day
You know by now there's no going home....
Head up high and all caution thrown
Desperately thrown to the wind....You never cave and or bend
There's no more to say.......now you've learned your lesson
Keep it all inside.......keep everybody guessing
You and your's......your keeper
You should end the day
Me, I'll always believe you
You should end the day
