about
“Adeus,” Portuguese for “Goodbye” seems like the perfect song to end the Vanilla|66 imaginary soundtrack album that we began last January and finished in the arc of 2021 (along with the Vanilla Sideshow album. Both albums will be released on cd, vinyl, or digital in their entirety early in 2022).
“Adeus” is a little bossa nova number influenced by 60’s Latin vocal groups like Sergio Mendes and Brasil ‘66; Latin jazz pioneers like Antonio Carlos Jobim, Astrud and Joao Gilberto… and there’s a touch of Stan Getz in there as well.
Think Rio—the end of Carnival, and last goodbyes…the long sandy beach in front of you and Corcovado looming up in the background. This is our own special little goodbye from the Vanilla | 66 project - wishing you all happy holidays (it’s mid-summer in Rio after all)!
